What Super Hero Would You Be?

I recently responded to such a question (the super hero aspect would be a newly created superhero, not the established ones, aka Green Lantern, Superman, Spiderman, and my fav... Thor) on Yasmine Galenorn's bulletin board. (Author of the Other World Series and Indigo Court Series) Moon Stalker Discussion Forums

My response was:

I'm not sure if who I would be would really be a 'super hero', but she's who I choose. I should give a little back story on her race before I go further. I should also state that there is much, much more information than what I have posted here, but in an attempt to keep this relatively brief, leaving most of it out.

A few years ago, Isobael and I started playing a tweaked version of AEG's Stargate RPG. (We both hate the Spycraft gaming system (20d D&D) and love White Wolf's WOD gaming system (10d) as it's much simpler, less mess and more time is spent role playing instead of roll playing). Of course, the Goa'uld and other races connected to Stargate can be changed, but I'm going with what I've got.

I created a race of beings that are on the downslide into extinction, there simply is not enough of them left alive to have a viable gene pool to keep their bloodlines pure, though there are still a few lines that are still purebred. The true name of their race is lost in the mist of time. When the Goa'uld realized that they could not conquer and control this race of people, they hunted them into extinction, or so they and historians thought.

Egeria that sneaky mother of the Tok'ra spirited away a group of these people and hid them, and a batch of young, one of which was another queen, and some of her most trusted guards, away on an unknown planet and went off to eventually be defeated and imprisoned by Ra.

Among themselves, this race of beings call themselves Phoenix because they have risen from the ashes of their so called extinction. Among outsiders, they call themselves Nameless. Time passed and the infant queen matured and blended with the leader of the Phoenix, a female named Mara who became known as Mara necnon Maharet.

The Phoenix look human enough, pointed ears, their skin has a very faint bluish tint, but it's not so obvious they couldn't pass among humans, however, their hair IS pale blue and their eyes are a very vivid light blue. They actually have two Achillies Heels. They must have natural sunlight and they can not tolerate the cold. These Achillies Heels are lethal under extended lack of exposure (in regards to the sunlight) and exposure (in regards to the cold).

Their beneficial powers are that they are telepathic and they have an affinity for fire. As they grow, their ability to create and control fire also matures, up to a point that they can separate their consciences from their bodies and said conscience becomes a being of fire, sort of like a physical astral form, (blue fire, to be exact). This ability also has its drawback. It is extremely draining on the Phoenix and they can die if they extend themselves too far.

That being said, The Phoenix survive by secrecy. They hide on planets that others (aka the Goa'uld and other such beings know about). They have taken in humans and other Jaffa and even a few Goa'uld and Tok'ra defectors. (The Tok'ra know nothing of the Phoenix and as far as the Phoenix are concerned, they're little better than the Goa'uld and even call Tok'ra 'Betrayers') While they keep their heads down as a society, the members of their society do have agents placed among the Goa'uld, Tok'ra and Jaffa societies. When found, by any outsider, they pull up stakes and move to another previously selected world.

Anyway, I would be Mara necnon Maharet.
